Crescent City Classic Training Plans

The Crescent City Classic features a scenic route that runs through the streets of New Orleans. This fast, flat, point-to-point course starts in front of the Superdome and runs through the French Quarter past Cafe Du Monde and the French Market. The course continues down beautiful Esplanade Avenue to New Orleans City Park. The remainder of the course takes place inside the park, passing by Storyland before finishing just before the New Orleans Museum of Art, where a cheering crowd awaits. Because the course features almost no elevation change, the Crescent City Classic is a great race for runners of all abilities, particularly when you train using a CTP Crescent City Classic training plan.

Preparing for the Crescent City Classic with Custom Training Plans can help you train safely, with workouts custom-made to help you take advantage of the flat terrain. Whether your goal is to finish your first 10K or to set a new PR, a Crescent City Classic training plan can get you ready to race from the Superdome to City Park feeling strong and swift. Trust CTP to help you prepare for your Crescent City Classic 10K with customized running, cross-training, and mobility workouts designed just for you.

Our method

  1. Certified Coaches

With the expertise of USATF certified coaches and physical therapists, we built an advanced model to weigh the effects of runner-specific variables on training outcomes.

  2. Custom Race Profile

We analyzed unique characteristics of hundreds of races across the country to build a “race profile” into our model that accounts for elevation gain, altitude, time of year, and more.

  3. Training Plan Model

Our model generates a unique training plan for you and your race, and all plans are reviewed by a coach and hand-tweaked before they make their way to you.
