ABOUT OC MARATHON TRAINING PLANS
The OC Marathon is run every year in mid-May, along with an accompanying half marathon and a 5K race. Following a program from Custom Training Plans can help you take a comprehensive approach to preparation for these races. We provide customized workouts that take your current physical fitness, past racing experience, and the course itself into account. Every OC Marathon training plan, OC Half Marathon training plan, and OC 5K training plan is created along with a professional athletic trainer so you can feel confident as you prepare to line up at the start.
The first mile of the OC Marathon begins with a breathtaking panorama of the Pacific Ocean. Next, runners visit the seaside village of Corona del Mar and enjoy cliffside views of Big Corona del Mar State Beach. As the route continues, athletes will pass the Newport Harbor Yacht Clubs and the Upper Newport Bay Estuary Reserve, where the half-marathoners split off toward the finish. The full marathoners will go on to visit the Santa Ana River Trail and beautiful Mesa Verde neighborhoods before turning onto the home stretch near the OC Fair & Event Center.
The OC Marathon is one of three marathons that are part of the Beach Cities Challenge series, which also includes the Surf City Marathon and the Long Beach Marathon.
